Getting tired of having a lack of motivation?
If you need a little boost for your next kite session follow these 10 tips from the amazing Brazilian rider Dioneia Vieira and get back on your board!
1. Love
Love is the first word I could point to and is at the beginning of everything. I always believe that if love is there, you will never give up.
2. Goals
It’s important to have goals, your goals will be the main reason why you should not give up.
3. Be positive
I always try to be the as positive as possible when something goes wrong, like losing a heat, crashing a trick, etc.. Because that feels like a step back to get to my goal, but I know I need to keep patiently going to get there!
4. Try something else
If in case you feel like it’s getting somehow boring, when I am sure it isn’t.. Try to do something fun, different, like putting a skirt on and imagine you go for a dance with your kite ;).
5. Be patient
With tricks it takes quite a while to learn, if that’s what you want, be patient! Before you learn it you will have to pass some tests, like movements, rotations, learn how to crash back and front edge crashes, (they are the worst).
Sometimes you will really feel like you want to give up, but don’t you dare… In the end you will understand why.
6. Never give up
It feels so good when you achieve your goal, it’s an indescribable feeling. So if you want to know how that feels, keep on trying until you have it done!
7. Take a break
Kiting every single day is cool, I know! But it may not be the best for your body, taking a break once or twice a week to rethink what you did wrong can help you on your way to your goals, so keep that in mind and remember.. Do not give it up!
8. Crash a lot
The more you do it wrong, the closer you are do getting it right, so crashing/losing a few times will teach you something new each time and will make you realize you are going the right way by trying it more and more because that’s how you will get to your final destination (your goal).
9. Ask a more experimented rider
Don’t feel ashamed to ask people that have more experience than you for advice. It’s always good to know more.
Of course depending on the person you advice from, the person should have more experience than you and must be going for the same goal or at least similar.
10. Have fun
