One thing we all love to have is evidence of our moments of action, be it a landing a new trick, making that first water start, or falling flat on our face. There are a large number of options out there for you, and while you may think you have seen them all, we hope to show you a few that perhaps you had not thought of.
GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition
We start with the camera everyone has heard of, now in its 3rd edition and very very hard to beat. One of the best in terms of quality and accessories, but still no screen by default, and quite a wide angle and gets foggy quickly, …but popular opinion says it is the best.
Alternatives to the Go Pro…
Contour Roam 2 / +2
This comes in 2 versions, the standard has very similar specs to the GoPro, but the +2 has some impressive specs. 120fps!, GPS tracking for speed and elevation & bluetooth for full iPhone control. It’s not cheap, but we would like to try it out.

Drift HD Ghost
Another with similar specs to the GoPro, but this one is waterproof to 3m with no case (so no fog), has built in wi-fi and has some clever technology clever called ‘Flashback’ which uses the cameras memory to make sure you do not miss the important moment.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT3
If you want something that resembles more the the type of camera you are used to. Of all of the compact waterproof cameras this one in our opinion is the best. It has a Leica lens and the same technology you find in all cameras in the Lumix series, which we are fans of.
For those looking for something a bit different, why not use the amazing camera you already have in your pocket. You iPhone.
LifeProof iPhone Case
This is the most popular waterproof case for the iPhone, and we had one in the KiteSista office. It was amazing, until it got a small hole in it which cost us an iPhone!
Moophie Outride
The new kid on the block, with a wide angle lens and a much more rugged case. This has a lot of promise and we really want one.
Owle Bubo iphone Video Rig
This is not waterproof so be careful, but it adds a professional element to your setup with a lot more weight, a better microphone and a 37mm lens. This is the KiteSista offices newest toy and we are excited to show you the result. We have added a polariser to it and will be shooting with it over the next few months.
iPhone SLR Lens Mount
If you want to go one better, this does not need much explaining. Add your SLR lens to your iPhone!
Of course, if you have SLR lens, you probably have an SLR, which is of course still going to be without a doubt the best (and most expensive) option.
Canon 7D
Everyones favourite SLR, in the compromise between price and quality this is without question the must have camera.
The Cam Caddie
If you have an SLR you can add an extra level of professionalism with this stabiliser. Stabilisers usually cost a lot more than this, so for us this is an amazing deal.
