Hello again !
As I assume everybody is curious about what is happening right now in the desert in Dakhla town during the NEW world cup. What I can say is that there are so many changes, so many new rules and so many new competitors that is hard for me to decide were to begin this post.
Firstly, the event is located at the Dakhla Attitude which is a great location. The place we are staying at is in the middle of nowhere (the Sahara Desert), however the kiteboarding spot is amazing, the hotel is right at the spot, the food is amazing, and the people who work here are the most helpful people ever.
I am happy to be here and enjoy it every single day. There was no wind for the last 3 days, even though we were super busy exploring the area.
For me the competition begins tomorrow, and to be honest I am really excited to put the lycra back on, and show my best performance in the heat area.
Being a competitor is like an addiction, you can’t stop doing it. There are hard times, when you loose, when your kiteboarding gear breaks, when you get injured or travel to the most remote destination. Nevertheless when you can’t compete you really crave to be at the event again.
Being an athlete has a lot of positive sides, like meeting all the best riders from around the world, going to the best locations to train and of course winning prizes.
That’s why I don’t want to be worried about the changes in the NEW world cup (VKWC), because I am happy to be a professional athlete and can follow my passion and hang out with the best riders from around the world.
Let see what the new season will bring! …and as always wish me LUCK !!!
