Who has ever tried to sit down in a tranquil place away from prying eyes to try and find inner peace …and not quite been able to find it.
Of course it has been well proven that meditation is an excellent therapy for people having trouble coping with the stress of everyday life, achieving focus and also people who see the benefits of just taking a little time for themselves.
So why not try out the experience again but this time with a few tips to help you start out with some good basics.
What we need to know from the beginning is that meditation is not learned overnight. It will require perseverance until you are able to be completely empty in your mind and in touch with yourself.
Find a place where you feel good and which inspires you. This can be anywhere as long as you feel calm and soothed.
Find a position where you feel good and which relaxes you. This might be sitting, kneeling, lying … the key is to keep your spine aligned to allow energy to flow to the heart while ensuring relax your lower body.
Find a focal point. Open or closed eyes, concentrate on one particular thing or nothing, just trying not to distract yourself and stay focused. That is why it is sometimes easy to keep your eyes closed and just watch your inner self.
Find your inner self … this is probably the most complicated part but in fact it is not as hard as you think. Concentrate on your breathing, inhaling and exhaling deeply and be sure to keep your position without moving. Do not try to fight against the thoughts that invade your mind … let them come and go.
After a few sessions you will see how this simple little ritual will bring you peace and serenity.
Finally of course meditation is often associated with all things mystical and perhaps may seem a bit far from your normal mindset but nevertheless this is a story of energy, chakras and simple blood circulation … you would be foolish not to give it a go.
Namaste.
